What is Niche Market?

FACT:  Every business wants to be recognized by the product or service it sells.  The primary goal is that the product becomes at the top of the customer’s list as a preferred brand for a specific category.

With the cutthroat competition around, every business struggles very hard to get into this position.  The existence of the competition does not warrant any security for businesses which have already achieved this goal either.

Whether it is a newcomer or it has achieved the spot already, must give their own efforts to keep up with the competition.  The newcomers and those which have not reached the peak yet must continue to struggle to raise to the top while those already there must keep performing all effective strategies to hedge their position at the top.

In a business where competition thrives, there is really no safe spot for everyone.  Everyone must do their share to go along with the competition and keep their business up and running.

As a newcomer, it will be much harder to penetrate an industry in which there have already been established businesses.  Not until niche marketing finds its way to the heart of any business.

Big and small businesses alike can benefit in the strategy as posted by niche marketing.  It is because through niche marketing, products can cater to specific customer segment that has never been attended to by other products under the same category.

There are big businesses that do the same function as a newcomer’s product or service.  By building a niche for this product or service, it can be the first product or service in mind of people being targeted in the niche.

By definition, niche marketing is referred to as the selection of an untapped and more specific target market and focus in building the business with this segment by addressing their certain need through the product or service that the business offers.

Through niche marketing, there are various products or services of the same line.  These specific products or services can still be noticed by these customers whom the business wants to focus on.

As a result, the business can still thrive considering that it is able to get a specific target market where the merchandise can be offered.

Niche marketing does not just thrive in the offline world.  Having the same tough competition as the offline businesses, niche marketing has also flourished in the online business.

As a matter of fact, competition is much worse online than offline.  As result, the need to be able to create one’s niche is as important to be able to grow the online business.

Without any niche to focus on, it will be much harder to penetrate in the online market especially if there have been established products that a business is competing with already.

How to Make Money Working at Home as an Info Product Marketer

You know how when you get started as a newbie in this business you don’t know WHAT to sell, WHO to sell it to or HOW you are going to get started?

I’m going to break it down for you today and give you a simple, easy non-threatening way to get started in this business.
First, you have the big boys on the block in any highly lucrative market.

They pull out all the big guns – sophisticated product launches, video, high end membership sites, seminars, coaching.
This is the full arsenal.

And frankly, the skill level is beyond most beginners unless you have exceptional talent.

There’s another kind of player – the Guerilla player.  This player knocks off specific topics the big boys overlook or don’t cover.  What they do is create little info products, PDF reports, eBooks, teleseminars that covers very specific topics within the broad, overall market.

The advantage of these products is they are fairly quickly hits to create.

The other advantage is you can round up 10 of the products into a bundle and sell that.   Or you can break them out and sell them separately.

I’ll give you an example:  I’ve mentioned the market recently that teaches guys how to meet girls.  And vice versa, girls and women on how to meet guys.

I ran across a site the other day that was cool.  He isn’t a big name in the market.  So he just hitting topics that are very specific that no one else is covering in as much depth.
For example:  the phone.

All guys DREAD calling that girl or woman they just met on the phone to ask for that illusive date.

So what this guy did is created a little audio product JUST on that.  Only he added one twist to it that I thought was very clever – HE KNEW guys get all nervous about picking up the phone and CALLING.

So his little info product teaches them how to do it via TEXT messaging!  This is brilliant.  He just solved a big anxiety, a big problem.

And no other “gurus” in that market teach guys how to do the text game in as much detail (or hardly at all).  So he took a little simple method he’d discovered for getting dates by text messaging and made a little $20.00 product out of it.

Yeah, no one gets rich off of a $20.00 product.  But he does sell big ticket back end stuff.  And here again, he has chosen the role of the GUERRILLA.

He picked a topic hardly anyone else is doing seminars or big tickets on – daytime.  How to meet women in coffee shops, bookstores, and other daytime activities!

So here he is in this crowded market.  And he’s found some topics to focus on that are not well covered by the big guns.  In Red Factor, I called these “underserved” markets for those of you who are plugged into the body of knowledge.
Here’s another one I spotted.

The point is, you may be new and wondering what YOU can sell in a crowded market or in ANY market!  The answer is to find some topics that are IGNORED by everybody else.

Then you make those topics your specialty or the focus of you eBooks, audios, interviews, teleseminars, seminars or whatever.  Now, I’ve built my whole business on what I call FLANKING moves.
These are similar to Guerrilla moves but are different. The basic idea, though, is similar.

You sell to underserved markets.  Vintage Red Factor thinking there.

And if you’re a struggling beginner wondering WHAT do you sell, start looking for some little topics in a market that no one else has done anything on.

That would make you the one and only on that topic.
I used to sign my name:  Marlon Sanders, the one and only.
Now you know why.

I don’t care HOW crowded the market.  You can always find those Red Factor opportunities, those Guerrilla topics, those flanking move that no one else is covering.

It’s a LOT easier to sell when you are the ONLY one with a product on the topic!

One last example:  There’s a guy in the magic field who had a trick that he stopped selling (because he got out of the trick selling business).  I’ve heard the trick now sells for $1,000 on eBay.

The trick is a gimmick that lets you FLOAT a bottle without strings attached.  Most levitations of stuff that are close up involve some sort of string, and therefore can ONLY be done with very light stuff.

His levitation?

You can float heavy stuff like bottles.  And you can do it close up.  And there are no string used.

How crazy is that?

Here’s a killer trick with a SOLID USP.  It’s a great little product because it’s a “one and only.”

I hope I’ve convinced YOU to consider being a “one-and-only.”  And to start out this business by doing little quick hit products you can knock out in under a week.  Or even a few hours.

Remember that little phone call product I told you about?  It was $20.00 and just a little audio the guy made.  But it had great info.

He could get $39.00 for it or maybe $49.00 if he transcribed it into a tidy little PDF.

Choosing the Right Product

English: This image shows you various ways of searching search engines for keywords of your choice. (Photo credit: Wikipedia)
When you first start your online business, the first and most obvious question you will ask yourself is…what am I going to sell?

Here are point to consider when deciding what to sell:

  • Is it light and easy to ship?
  • Is it a digital good that is downloaded (e-book or software)?
  • Is it perishable or fragile?
  • Does it have to be seen and held (designer fabrics, perhaps)
  • Is there enough demand to make your venture profitable?
  • Does it have little competition from large online companies (niche products)?
The last two characteristics are the ones that can be hard to pin down. Here is a generally accepted method of arriving at an idea of how heavy the demand and competition is for a product.

If you have a special interest in some products that meet the above criteria, great. But don't limit your investigation just to items you like.

You are looking for a niche product with relatively good demand (enough to make it profitable), but without heavy competition.

One way to see what the demand is for products you are interested in is to look at search engines to see how frequently people search for the product you are considering.

The result of all this research should be products that will fit into a niche market - products with some demand, and relatively little supply.

For the best results, focus on one niche product category, and offer a wide selection.  For example, instead of offering general craft supplies, offer the widest possible selection of needlepoint kits.

This strategy will also allow you to rank higher in search engines because you can optimize your pages for fewer, more specific, keywords.

5 Tips to Choosing the Right Affiliate Program

Affiliate programs can be a great way to make money online. You don't have to spend time developing your own product, worry about taking orders, or take care of customer service.

If you already have a high traffic website or run an e-zine you can stand to earn a steady flow of commissions every month without a lot of extra work on your part.

Here are five tips to choose right affiliate programs:
  1. Choose affiliate programs that match the content of your site. If your site targets a niche market than choose affiliate programs that offer products to that niche market.
  2. Choose affiliate programs that pay a high commission. For example 30%-50% on your direct sales.
  3. Join affiliate programs that pay two-tier commissions. This enables you to not only earn commissions on your own sales but also on the sales of people who you introduce to your affiliate program.
  4. Join affiliate programs that offer a line of products so that you can earn commissions when your referrals come back and purchase other services or products.
  5. Join affiliate programs that offer affiliates great marketing support.  Many affiliate programs offer their affiliates pre-written ads to use or get ideas from, sales letters, marketing courses, and articles to use in promoting their services
Remember, the best affiliate programs will see their affiliate program as a partnership with you and combine high commissions with excellent support so that you can start earning money promoting their products as quickly as possible.

How to Choose an Affiliate Program

If you are an affiliate marketer, you have two options. The first option is to choose the product which has a great demand in the market. These items are expected to be sold immediately due to the interest of the people. Some examples of such particular items are dating sites, casino sites and weight loss products. The second option is to choose a product that suits your interests and you, yourself like to promote it.

We recommend you choose a product which is considered to be the hot product in the market as well as you having some interest in it. For example if you are golfer, then you should choose golfing products to promote. These products are among the hottest products on the market. Plus if you are a golfer, it will be easy for you to give detailed information about it on your website. So you can give lots of information there, you can write the basic rules about that sport, you can also write the tips about how new golfers can improve their playing skills. You can also give some guidance to anyone who may want to purchase golf equipment by suggesting the best place to go for good quality equipment. Similarly, you can give lots of golf related information on your website that may attract more visitors.

Let us look at some of the important things before promoting ANY affiliate program:

Choose Hot Products

Always choose the items which have a high demand in the market. If you want to choose a product but don’t know about the demand of that product, then visit Overture.com. Here you can check the bidding status of a product. If you find that many sellers are bidding for it, then it means it is a demanding product.

Be Familiar with Product

You must be knowledgeable about the product you are selling. If you do not know much about the product, how can you satisfy and convince your customer? You must know all the drawbacks of the product. Also do the comparative study of the product with the other same types of products present in the market. Provide your customers with this comparative study using graphs and tables. This will help sell your customers.

Good Sales Letter

Your sales letter is considered to be the key point for boosting your sales. It should be convincing enough for your consumer to want to buy. A good sales letter will attract visitors. You should also add some testimonials in it to make it more effective and believable.

Money Back Guarantee

If you want consumers to buy your product with no hesitation, then give them the benefit of a money back guarantee. If the affiliate program owner is not providing this guarantee with the product, then you should look for another merchant.

Contact Info

Physical address and contact info must be given on the site. This makes your website more reliable and trustable to your customers.

Real-time Statistics

Choose the affiliate program that can show you the real-time statistics of your visitors and sales. This will tell how many visitors are going to the merchant website from your website and how many visitors are converted into buyers. This will help you to see your progress.
